Independent, Australian-owned company plans to scale up its ambitions and new carbon farming partnerships to help build a productive, zero-net emission Australian land sector.
Climate Friendly is once again Australian-owned after completing a management buyout of its former majority shareholder since 2012, South Pole Holding. As a ‘profit for purpose’ organisation, Climate Friendly already manages over 100 carbon farming projects in Australia, and the entire team will now be focused on expanding our impact to secure a zero net emissions Australia.
Founded in 2003, Climate Friendly was established to tackle the climate challenge. Carbon farming makes farmers, agricultural producers, foresters and traditional custodians part of the solution – they provide a service by helping to reduce Australia’s carbon emissions and are paid based on the measured results they deliver. All of Climate Friendly’s activities over the last 15 years have been focused on achieving large scale impacts while delivering economic, social and environmental benefits. “As a ‘profit for purpose’ company, we measure our success by more than just our bottom line. Instead, we’re motivated by freedom and flexibility for carbon farmers, sustainability for the land, and a bright future for the next generation” says Freddy Sharpe, CEO and Director.
