Sam Shumack

Senior Remote Sensing Specialist

Sam works in the technical team developing remote sensing products to streamline the mapping of woody vegetation and biomass. Sam was born in inner city Sydney, grew up in Melbourne, now back in Sydney’s northern suburbs. He has also lived in the Blue Mountains, and very briefly in Egypt. Sam has experience in research at the interface of remote sensing and environmental science. He’s also worked as a surveyor’s assistant, a GIS Officer in the NSW Government, and a university tutor in GIS and environmental science.

Bachelor of Science, Master of Research, PhD in Environmental Science.
I can be found bushwalking, taking beach trips or playing tennis. Lately, I’ve been making use of my time indoors by learning the guitar.
